If you need to monitor temperature and humidity of multi spots and still use a single controller in  a long distance the SM-RTU is alternative solution to SM8. You can connect up to 15 SHT3x-RTU sensors to SM-RTU and set the controller setting to read multi sensors. The controller will read the sensors sequentially and make an average of measured values.
